Then to Now: American Intersections is the tenth volume to appear in the EUV American Studies series and the fourth collection of M.A. and Ph.D. research projects (argumentative essays, course assignments, works in progress, dissertation pieces a.o.) edited under the aegis of the American Studies Center (CSAM). It accurately captures the creative tension between continuity and change, as it illustrates an attentively construed tradition of careful topic selection, development, demonstration and argumentation, while also bringing new theories, methods, critical tools, and engaging examples to the table. By accommodating the contributors’ choices and showcasing their voices and ideas, the book provides a panorama of this vast field of research and its ramifications across conventional borders, be they geographical or conceptual, disciplinary or vocational.
